Hi all, Bit pushed for time but thought you might like to see a few pictures from last night's concert. I think it can be said that a great time was had by all! As you can see Mary-Jess was quite emotional when she was given the card, bless her. She really is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet and really deserves all the success that I am sure will come her way in the future Graham

Thanks to all involved for the coverage so far. It is good to see the results so soon after the event. I feel sure there will be more as the day progresses so will try to look in later today.

I have been trying to put into words how last night made me feel, so I will just say it was absolutely amazing, Mary-Jess was absolutely amazing and I am still on a high that I don't want to come down from. When we arrived at Northleach Church Mary-Jess was near the entrance and as soon as she saw us she came and said hello before going off to get ready. We got seated but there were already quite a few people in so we didn't have the greatest view, but at least we were there. The concert itself was different to what I have seen before and had a bit of everything from the gospel singing to rock music and included rock legend Steve Winwood on Electric Guitar. Liz Leaverland (Mary-Jess' Mum - A pop/rock singer herself) was fantastic and although they sing in different styles it is easy to see where Mary-Jess’ talents come from. The star of the show was Mary-Jess though, as soon as she came on singing Don't Cry Alone I was just lost in the beauty of her voice, which is just as gorgeous live as it is recorded, she did another acoustic version of Glorious while her duet of Bridge Over Troubled Water with Liz was fantastic and received a standing ovation. The most telling part of the evening though was Mary-Jess herself, who Graham said earlier is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet, she is every bit the way she comes across in interviews and more. She spent so much time with us and made time for everyone, first she came over for a chat and photos in the Church and then invited us to join her in the pub. It was in the pub where we gave Mary-Jess her birthday card, when she saw the card it was an emotional but lovely moment, she loved it and was almost close to tears, I was so touched by her reaction, it is one of those moments where you just had to be there. I could have stayed all night but we sadly had to depart and went to say our goodbyes to Mary-Jess, she gave me a massive hug and said something to me which will remain private, but it was lovely intimate moment. Mary-Jess made the evening special and more enjoyable than any concert I have been to before, she is such a lovely lovely girl who really appreciates her support and deserves all the success. I can’t wait to go and see her again. Here are my photos, the first ones are bit dark using manual settings, I eventually switched to smart mode ;D

I really appreciate all the reports and photos guys not being able to get there myself. You are so very lucky and I am so envious. This is one of the cons of living overseas not been able to meet and greet at these events and get personal feedback from Mary Jess herself on her Forum. It looks like the "real' card option was the right choice and will be a keepsake for Mary Jess for many years to come. Bob

The church clock was striking midnight as I stepped out of the pub after saying my final farewell to Mary-Jess. A magical end to a magical evening - I felt like I was in a fairy-tale. As I floated back to my car, I listened to the bells as the carillon played a hymn tune. Three verses at midnight! The people of Northleach must love their church.
