I'm re-reading Harry Potter for the... tenth (?) time at the moment. On to Goblet of Fire now!

They are the only books I keep going back to and reading over and over, I got a new set last year and I hope I will be able to have them on my Kindle one day.

Yea - sucks that we can't have them on Kindle. The Pottormore website will sell them when it opens (I'm a BETA member there, but the e-books are obviously not on sale yet). I don't know if those e-books will be compatible with the Kindle (I know library books aren't!). I've gone through four Harry Potter boxsets in my time. I read loads of different books, but I always go back to Harry. I grew up with him, I guess! I remember when I finished my English Literature degree, the first thing I did was pick up Harry Potter for some relief! (three years of being told what to read is not nice! We had to read up to four novels a week!) It was such a pleasure to read JKs accessible and humour filled prose after all that Victorian Literature. XD

Haha.
Oxford is one of my favourite cities. I've been to London twice, but I never got the chance to visit any of the Potter sites. Hopefully one day!
Goblet of Fire is a great book. Don't think I'll ever be a fan of e-books though. I lost all interest in Pottermore after I got sorted into a house (Gryffindor). I'd rather have the Potter encyclopedia.

I was sorted into Gryffindor, too. I was disappointed. I wanted Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff (my traits suit them better - though probably Hufflepuff the most).

I have two Pottermore accounts. The first time I was sorted into Gryffindor and the second time I was sorted into Ravenclaw. I'll probably take the test again. If I end up in Hufflepuff or Slytherin I'll just be more confused! Haha.
I don't have anything against Gryffindor. I didn't expect to end up there though.

Pottermore was ultimately, very disappointing, sluggish and just frustrating. I know it was only BETA, but the whole thing seems like a wasted opportunity. I couldn't believe they had no sound, and duelling never worked for the few months I had patience with it. It might be up by now, who knows. There isn't a sense of community there, a place to discuss anything, or to make friends, either.
It's just weird, really. And since most people cheat with house points - what's the point? :/

I completely agree. I wonder if they will ever open the site to the general public (they were supposed to do it in October).

I registered but I never got into Pottermore, and I don't think I will ever bother, lots of people seem to have problems with it and I am yet to see a good review.
I am happy with my books and films. The books are special and I like to keep them in the best condition, I keep them separate from my other books, complete with 'Quidditch Through The Ages', 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them', and 'Tales Of Beedle The Bard' and on display with Room of Requirement book stops. I love reading on my Kindle and that way I can read them over and over without wearing out the books. I plan to get the blu-ray box set this year.

I don't care so much for the films - especially the earlier ones (the Chris Columbus ones are unbearable). I thought the last film (part II) was just genius, and I think they adapted the fifth one really well. The third one was really good as a film (amazing direction, tone and photography) but I still don't enjoy watching it. The films miss the depth of the books. I can appreciate them for what they are, but I'd rather spend 14 hours reading the book than to sit down for 3 hours to watch a film that doesn't cover half of what the book does.
You're really not missing anything on Pottermore. There's some extra info, but I imagine many people have published that info for non-beta testers (such as McGonagall's background story). The extra material is too far and in between and not particularly interesting (apart from McGonagall...)

I agree, I much prefer the books, as well as the parts left out in the films, the books are just so much more enjoyable and leave a lot to the imagination which is what I like, and why I like fantasy in general so much.

I love all the films. They have their faults, but I try to view them separately from the books (not always that easy). Prisoner of Azkaban didn't cover everything, but it really captured the spirit of the book. More so than any of the other films, I think.
I'm not a big fan of Goblet of Fire. Even the adult actors were off in that film (thanks to Mike Newell). Order of the Phoenix was too short and choppy, and I still hate the fact that Snape's Worst Memory is about 5 seconds long. But that has happened to all the memories.

I think Prisoner of Azkaban is a brilliant film, my favourite of the films are Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2, just because they included a lot more from the books, but PoA is a close third.

I thought Dumbledore was horrendous in GoF. But that can't be laid at Newell's feet. Gambon didn't know Dumdledore's character - he had been vocal about not needing to read the books, as were some other actors (Helen Bonham Carter included). Annoyed me slightly. He said he could make Dumbledore however he interpreted him, but I think he got so much criticism he did tone Dumbledore down after that film. I loved Richard Harris as Dumbledore. Half Blood Prince was also, I thought, good at capturing the tone. I thought it was a good adaptation. The only thing that annoyed me was the inclusion of Bellatrix Lestrange at the Burrow. Not that I have a problem with changes - I don't - but that scene kind of went nowhere. :/
