It looks like this concert is going to be the same as last year, a Gospel concert with the same / similar line up as last year. Mary-Jess and Liz will be performing again. www.northleach.org/about-us/events/I would love to be there again but it may be difficult for me, I don't think I would be able to pursade my brother this time ;D

Hi, A question for those that were lucky enough to attend last year.... How large or small a part is Mary-Jess likely to play ?.....There seems quite a few other performers .... Thanks, Graham C

Last years concert was pretty special for more reasons than just the concert, it was worth it just to see Mary-Jess' performance of 'Don't Cry Alone'
It's not the easiest place to get to, I paid £50 for a a taxi from Cheltenham after getting the train but it was so worth it, it was one of the most memorable evenings of my life and that is the reason I want to go back more than anything, lots of good memories there.

Mary-Jess just commented on facebook I am glad I did not re-arrange things then .......I would have been down there by now if I had changed my weekend plans We really need some way of confirming things in the future. Explains why Mary-Jess has not sent any Tweets for 10 days. Graham C

Thanks for posting the tweet from M-J, John.
I hadn't seen it but luckily Darren contacted me to tell me, otherwise Len and I would have been setting off for Northleach very shortly and pretty much a totally wasted journey!

Thanks for saving myself and others from a wasted trip John, I was just about to book myself into Rugby Travelodge for tonight after a last minute offer of a lift half way. It's a shame as I was really looking forward to it.

Hi, Thinking it through you would have expected a tweet from Mary-Jess in the last couple of days if she was going to be there. Looks like it was arranged some time ago with a tentative agreement and then the chance of a trip came up for her. As Mary-Jess had not mentioned it, she probably did not even know that we knew it was planned. As stated it was lucky John found out We must somehow be able to confirm details prior to future events, so there is no chance of wasted time and expense. Even a last minute tweet MAY be too late we need to know a reasonable time in advance... Graham C .

BTW, in case anyone is wondering how they missed the 'tweet', there wasn't one. Mary-Jess replied to a post I made on facebook on 24 April mentioning the event and tagging her. If you are a 'friend' you can see it on her timeline, underneath Bob's gnomes

Having said that one wonders why they didn't amend it once they knew Mary-Jess wasn't available, surely she informed them? I checked this morning and it was showing her as appearing tonight and still does as I write this. She last tweeted on the 16th April so I am guessing she has been away for a while. On reflection perhaps a lack of tweets from Mary-Jess may have been a clue but then again she didn't mention she was going away either which would have been an even bigger clue! I too am very grateful to John for spotting it (thanks again, John). It would have been so annoying to have made such a long journey for nothing, especially for anyone who was planning on booking a hotel. I think it might be prudent in future to wait until we get confirmation of some kind from Mary-Jess herself before assuming anything in terms of concert appearances. Graham

It wouldn't surprise me if they just copied and pasted last years advert!
When we started this forum Mary-Jess usually kept me informed herself about any events on Facebook, she doesn't appear to be as active as she was 12 months ago on the social networks but we do know she is busy planning a new album.
While we shouldn't expect her to confirm everything herself, I will send her a message to see if she can put us in touch with someone who might be able to. I do have contact information for her manager but I would prefer to ask her permission first before using that.

Thanks Dazza, I agree as I often check her facebook and twitter profiles regularly that she has not been as active. She did reply to a post I posted in her Facebook Fan Group when I asked if she was well and she said she was and asked if I was OK. She has not mentioned anything to me.
