Well, somebody had to create the first off-topic thread, didn't they?
In all the excitement at discovering this forum at the weekend, I forgot to thank Dazza for creating it. The layout is really attractive but, with such a beautiful subject, how could you go wrong? Thanks also to Bob for putting him up to it.
I have been having a great time here over the past few days and it is wonderful to see others contributing so much to the discussions.
Inevitably, much of the content posted at this stage of the forum's life will be things that some members have seen before, but I look on it as an investment for the future. As new fans come to this site, they will be able to see what makes Mary-Jess so special.

Thank you John, your support is much appreciated. Although I have been a big fan of Mary-Jess for a while, I may never have started a forum for her had it not been for Bob getting in touch last week, and I am so glad he did, so thank you Bob! This has been by far the most successful forum launch that I have been involved with and I really couldn't have asked for a better start. I know that we will have quiet periods, but we have had a good solid start and as long as Mary-Jess is active I hope that members keep coming back as well as new members joining. A part of what makes a good forum is the members, and each and every one of you has helped make this forum. This is the fifth forum that I have worked on and I can honestly say that never felt so at home on a forum than I have during the last few days. Considering we have been up and running for just a few days, these stats for all three of my forums are phenomenal... We have had more pageloads and unique visitors in the past few days than we had for the whole MONTH after Laura Wright International was launched last August. A big thank you also must go to Mary-Jess, who has given us support throughout the last week, and is the reason we are all here. Dazza

If I'm honest, I'm glad you dropped the "international" part of the name for this forum. I think it distracts from the subject matter and connotates certain types of memberships. Best to let the artist name speak for itself!
Thanks to all that built this forum. I will do my best to continue keeping this forum alive through my own posts and advertising it on CCUK social sites. xx

I wish that I had done it for Laura's forum and have done for a while, I still might change it and do a re-launch in the next few months. At the time I just wanted to follow on from All Angels International and saw them as sister sites.
I was always going to drop the 'International' for this forum though, this is much better and also makes it easier for search engines too.
Thanks for your support, Nicola.

No - it may have been my idea as I thought that Mary Jess deserved better exposure and she did not get this from her record company. I knew that there was something missing from her web site and that her fans (myself included) wanted somewhere to go as a community that is why I contacted Dazza (who is a good friend of mine) after checking first with Mary Jess herself. Dazza deserves all the credit as all the ground work was down to him.
Nicola, your continued support and posts are valued on this forum - thank you.

As I cannot reply directly in the same thread to Dazza's announcement today maryjess.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=announcements&thread=122&page=1#1457 I will resurrect this thread for my reply. Darren, although we knew each other a little and had met a couple of times beforehand, I feel that it was through this forum and our shared experiences at Mary-Jess's concerts back in March that you and I truly became friends. Thank you for all that you have done (and I am sure will continue to do) to promote beautiful music in this and other places. I wish you well in all your future endeavours and I am sure that Bob and Simon will ably carry on the work here. I look forward to our continuing friendship and hope we will meet again before long. John

Thanks John, I hope we can do as good a job. My first priority is to promote this Forum as much as possible and increase the membership. I also want to get up to 100 Likes on the Forum Facebook page.

Thank you so much John.
This forum had a wonderful start and those concerts back in March made it a really special time, moments I will never forget!
I'm looking forward to the future success of this forum under Bob's and Simon's guidance.

As a thank you to Dazza for setting up this Forum I would like to offer Dazza honorary membership. If nobody has any objections to this I could do this from 1 Dec 12.
