The forum is showing a latest post under albums by John at 11.56pm yesterday 5 March which I would like to read, but for some reason it is not there. All other posts are showing as usual. Perhaps you could look into this. Thanks
Thanks Mike, I saw that myself before I posted. I'm guessing that John posted but then decided to delete his post. Members can delete their own posts as long as there aren't any more replies to the thread. If this isn't the case then I can investigate further when I return home from work this evening.
Until this can be resolved, if anyone wishes to view the last fifty posts, they can do so via the Search button. For some reason, John's post made last last night doesn't appear but everything else does.
Thank you Ken, I hadn't realised that it had caused a problem with the most recent posts too. I've never come across this issue before so I have reported it to proboards and I will see what they get back to me with.
I have had a response from Proboards who have looked into the issue.
The server that Mary-Jess Forum is hosted on was being worked on yesterday, when John made his post an error on the server caused the post to not fully process. It was just a case of unlucky timing.
The problem when you try to read the 50 most recent posts is that the forum can't find the post ID for the missing post so it stops there. The only thing we can do here is wait for the missing post to be 'flushed' off the list as more posts are made on the forum and you will be able to view the 50 most recent again.
Thanks for checking it out Dazza. The page did seem to hang for quite a while when I hit the 'Post Reply' button. I wondered if I had been in the editing screen too long; that sort of post doesn't come quickly to me. Is there a time limit for editing? For my longer posts, I generally write it in MS Word first, then just paste it into the forum, adding smileys where appropriate.
No problem John, I have never known a time limit for posting, for my post in the favourite song thread last night I was writing it for well over an hour as it was during that time proboards responded to me.
