Hello! I am John and I have become a huge fan of classical crossover music over the last two and a bit years, aided and abetted by Nicola through her website and forum.
I first saw Mary-Jess at the Classic Brit awards last year. I didn't know anything about her at the time, but found out her name from the post-awards publicity on the internet.
A few weeks later, a couple of facebook friends started to post links to some videos and interviews. I investigated, just to find out more about who this mysterious person might be and soon became hooked.
My best "Mary-Jess" moment (so far) was when I went to Gloucester Cathedral to hear her sing as part of the 'Gloucestershire's got Talent' event. She may only have sung two songs, but what songs they were - 'Glorious' and 'Lighthouse of Mine'. I was mesmerized.
Regular visitors to the Classical Crossover forum will know that I have many favourite artists. I can't put them all in order, but Mary-Jess is definitely in my top grouping.

Welcome John, you make me envious as I have yet to see Mary Jess but that moment will come one day. I hope she decides to visit us ex pats in Australia in time but for now I will just have to make do listening to Shine on the CD player. Bliss!

John noticed Mary-Jess before I did! He constantly posted about her and I ignored them for a while (there's always new artists to look at...)
Silly me! I bought her EP and singles before the album came out. Those five/six songs were enough for the wait - when the album came out I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful music. Not a bad song on there! Rare thing, indeed!

This was the first time I saw Mary-Jess, at the Classic Brit awards last May. I didn't know who she was then - what a missed opportunity

Thanks for the pictures John! It was just after the Classical Brits that I discovered Mary-Jess too, I can remember that when she was on the red carpet a lot of people were shouting for Faryl Smith, I may not have known she was Mary-Jess but I knew that she wasn't Faryl! I hope that she is there again this year, the Classical Brits is always a top night out. I managed to take a picture too... Dazza
