I am very proud of Toni. The only place she has been announced is CCUK, so pretty much her whole fanbase is a result of my website. This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. XD XD Her dad sent me a demo through the post and I was instantly smitten. I wasn't prepared for everyone to be instantly smitten as well when I added her, but she caused such a sensation when she was first added that there hasn't been such a reaction since. If artists were seasons, Mary-Jess would be summer, and Toni would be winter. She has a slightly gothic aura about her and is definitely a break from the cut outs we are used to. She has been signed to Gray Bartlett who discovered Hayley Westenra and Elizabeth Marvelly. She is still an indie artist, but her album is going ahead anyway, and here's hoping she'll be noticed from overseas. The incredible thing about Toni is simply her voice, and her very down to earth approach with fans and her talent. She makes many home videos of her singing live for fans (no studio production to hide under!) and her voice is one in a million. Her talent is jaw dropping and, if all goes well, will be one of the biggest talents to ever come from New Zealand. Her studio recording of Wild Horses is a good starter, but check out her pitch perfect home videos! I have no doubt she'll knock your socks off! It was possible to buy 'Wild Horses' on CCUK's compilation album but I'm afraid we are sold out.

She has her first even concert (as a solo artist) on 28th March. Would love to see her live, but I guess the videos will have to do!
I suppose NZ is too far for Australia, though!

Just a bit, it is 4 hours to Sydney and about the same again to NZ. I am happy to support her as much as I can if she wants any help. As you know Dazza and I are supporting Mariette and Mary Jess in the UK but I am looking for an artist I that I like to support in the Southern Hemisphere and she sounds terrific. Bob

She has a proboard forum, too. I think the person who did it wishes to remain anonymous, but he goes by the name Mr Wolf. www.tonigibsonfans.net/

Thanks for sharing Nicola. Absolutely gorgeous voice those home videos pitch perfect, as you say there's no studio trickery to hide behind.
A backing track and a video camera that's all.
Totally Stunning!!

Wow, thanks Nicola. What a wonderful voice. Also the lovely intimate films of her singing direct to camera are very affecting. Pleased to see she will be releasing a cd soon and I am already looking forward to getting a copy. Absolutely loving the version of wild horses - is there any chance of the CCUK compilation album being reissued?

Is there any chance of the CCUK compilation album being reissued? I'm afraid not, we were only contracted to distribute the CD in 2011. It would be illegal for us to make anymore and sell them.

According to her Website she has a gig next week. This one is definitely too far for us to go, even for Bob!!

Yes, about 7 hours flying time for me even. Come to Perth, the most isolated city in the world.

Sent from my HTC Explorer A310b using ProBoards One of the isolated but most beautiful cities in Australia. I have travelled there several times as my daughter used to live and work in Kalgoorlie. Perth is my favourite Australian city although Melbourne is a close second. Miles and miles of beautiful beaches and a stone's throw from Margaret River, one of world's premier wine areas. You have picked a good place to live Bob!
