I know that there is a lot of interest in Siobhan Owen from members here so it is time we had a thread about her. I've been following Siobhan for a few years now, she has a very pure voice and plays the harp absolutely beautifully. There is a very Celtic feel to her music and she is very proud of her Welsh roots despite living in Australia. In January 2013 Siobhan will be coming to the UK to perform three concerts and give her UK fans a chance to see her. Sun 6 January - Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead, North Wales Sat 12 January - Chessington Methodist Church, Nr London Sun 13 January - St Matthews Church, Chelston, Nr Torquay I am saving the date for Holyhead and I can't wait to see Siobhan performing live. Siobhan is also looking for funding for her new album, there are 13 days to go so please donate if you can - www.indiegogo.com/Siobhan-Owen-New-Album-ProductionOfficial Site - www.siobhanowen.com/YouTube - www.youtube.com/user/sharbasFacebook - www.facebook.com/SiobhanOwenMusicTwitter - twitter.com/#!/siobhanowen

Good call Dazza, as you know since I 'found' her I've become a massive fan of Siobhan. You summed her up well, extremely talented, beautiful sound from both harp and voice. From her Irish/Welsh background Siobhan sort of crosses the bridge between Celtic Folk and Classical, it's hard to describe. So I'll guess people will have to find out for themselves by clicking on the links above.

I think that Siobhan is unique in Classical Crossover, vocally she reminds me a lot of Hayley Westenra, but the sound of her voice while playing that beautiful Harp is unmatched.
I only have Lilium & Celestial Echoes as digital downloads at the moment, I know they can be ordered from her website but I am hoping she will bring copies to sell in her UK concerts.

I'm sure they will if they can fit them in the suitcases!!
I've put the Chessington date in the diary as that's easier for me than Holyhead and definitely closer than Torquay!

I have looked at both, I can get to Chessington and it seems that there will be a lot of friends there.
I am sticking with Holyhead at the moment though, it's closer and I can get a direct train from Crewe. I am also quite excited about seeing Siobhan in her first UK concert near to where she was born in Wales.

I will definitely be at Chessington. It would be great to see some friends there. I haven't totally ruled out the other dates as well, but long distance travel at that time of year isn't something to be contemplated lightly.

I know what you mean John.
Just think how cold the Owens' are going to feel. Leaving Adelaide in January to come to the UK!

I hope she comes to Perth one day as she lives in Adelaide. I have also been following her very closely for a few months.

Update from Siobhan overnight last night.
She had a boost to her CD funding campaign overnight and it's now at $4055! Less than $1000 to target with 9 days to go!
