Classic Brit Awards 2012

Mary-Jess features in one of the albums nominated for this year's Album of the Year.

She sings 'There You'll Be' in 'Summon the Heroes' from the Band of HM Royal Marines.

The album is up against competition from Hayley Westenra, Laura Wright and Russell Watson, amongst others.

Voting is open until 21st September and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 2nd.

The first time I ever saw Mary-Jess was at last year's Classic Brits, but I didn't know who she was then. I hope she will be back again this year.

Well I've just voted, fingers crossed. Pity Mary-Jess doesn't have a nomination on her own.

I'm backing Hayley or Laura although I am expecting it to be one of the bands or Andre Reiu. I haven't voted in the album of the year category for a few years, I have my reasons for it.

I'm really looking forward to the Classic Brits, just over two weeks away now, always a top night! I've even brought a new suit this year! I hope Mary-Jess will be there.

Mary-Jess replied to a question on facebook a few days ago that she would probably be in Chicago on October 2nd.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and other friends again Dazza, and seeing your new suit, but I hope you understand that won't quite compensate for the absence of Mary-Jess.

BTW I voted for Paradiso. If Shine had been nominated that would have been a different matter.
