Support Guest Choirs Confirmed


ALED JONES - Singer, actor, author & radio/TV presenter will be embarking on unique tour taking in some of the nation’s most beautiful Cathedrals and venues throughout April and just announced to join Aled are guest choirs from each region. Also confirmed are special guests supports Mary-Jess Leaverland, Isabel Suckling and Celeste on selected dates.

Performing in Cathedrals has been part of Aled’s life since his days in Bangor as a boy chorister. This tour sees Aled visit the length and breadth of the country including Durham, Exeter, Ely, and Truro plus will give the chance for Aled to collaborate with wonderful local choirs in each town. He has said:

“This UK tour is going to be very special to me as at each show either the Cathedral choir or local choirs from the area are going to take part making each occasion unique. I also can’t wait to perform all my favourite songs.”

Aled recently celebrated over 25 years as a household name and is currently anchoring ITV’s Daybreak with Lorraine Kelly. The singer, actor, author & radio/TV presenter currently has 29 albums to his name - selling over 6 million to date. Additionally Global Radio’s national classical music station Classic FM; have just announced that the Aled Jones will be joining its presenter line-up from next month, just ahead of his tour.

April 17th at Derby

I am very sorry to announce that tomorrow nights concert in Gloucester has been cancelled due to Aled not being well. Sorry again

All of Aled's tour dates so far have been cancelled.
Let's hope he is well in time for Derby next week.
I have booked to see him at Guildford at the end of the month.

He has also cancelled Liverpool Cathedral for this Friday (12 April)
Tickets for Norwich Cathedral on Mon 15 April are still available, so hopefully Derby should be O.K.

Another week of concerts (including Derby) has now been cancelled due to Aled's ill health.
So, an opportunity lost for Aled's fans to discover Mary-Jess.

He is still hoping to go ahead from Truro on 26th April (with Rebecca Newman) but I am not counting my chickens for Guildford on the 27th.

Unfortunately Aled Jones has had to cancel next week's concerts in Norwich, Ely, Derby, York and Salisbury due to an ongoing illness. Whilst preparing and practising for his tour it has reactivated his severe chest infection

I am surprised that I didn't book this knowing the luck I am having this year, I was still looking at hotels last night!

I hope that Aled is better in time for your concert in Guildford, John.

It must be so disappointing for the support acts and choirs, quite apart from people who had booked for the concerts, who at least should get their money back.
This was to have been Celeste's first major tour. Now they will have three concerts at most.

I almost booked on the spot for Derby when I saw that Mary-Jess was to be performing there. I have family not far away, where I could stay. I checked the Cathedral location and car parks etc. and was about to book some time off work. Then I looked at my diary and found that I wasn't free that evening. I think someone may be looking after me.

Fingers crossed for Guildford. I hope for Aled's sake that he gets better soon.

Thankfully, Aled was well enough for his concerts at Truro and Guildford.
Although both concerts where Mary-Jess was to join him were cancelled, she still made her way into the tour programme.
