I was going to order Mariette's album this week anyway but have now gone ahead and purchased it from her website here in my hotel when I should be getting ready for Hayley's concert tonight. Mariette calling me a sweetheart on Twitter had nothing to do with this swift action, honest. ;D Like Mary-Jess, she seems like such a lovely person and I can't wait to listen to her album. Dazza Definitely a good choice sweetie. ;D |

So glad people are taking the plunge! Mariette deserves it! It says much about the financial condition of the industry that she hasn't been snapped up.

I agree Nicola, there is so much talent in the UK and it seems that if you have not had the media attention from shows like X Factor the major record companies will not touch you. They should do more research and visit sites like Classical Crossover and find out more about these lesser known individuals who produce good original music like Mariette Davina. I think you said earlier that her music could also appeal to the Pop music industry (Kate Bush did).

Mariette's CD arrived today and I think it is a wonderful album, she has a fantastic voice and there are some really great songs on there. Mariette signed it for me too. I am really glad I went ahead and brought it and only wish I had done so sooner.

Me too Dazza, mine arrived today as well, signed with a very sweet message. I'm really looking forward to listening to it. Can't wait for the commute to work actually when I'll get a real chance to listen

Mariette sent my chocolate with my Christmas card thanking me for everything I had done for her. Completely unexpected and demonstrates her thoughtfulness, modesty and gratitude. LOVE her. <3

She is a real Gem Nicola and we will do all we can to support her career. As you said earlier "she is ridiculously talented". Now that several of us have got a copy of her CD can you start another Poll Nicola on favourite track on the album. My favourites in order are risk it, circles of change, images lie and totally free. The cd is superb and all tracks stand out like Shine. I hope and pray a major record label signs her up soon.

That is fantastic Nicola, what a lovely gesture.
I am really enjoying Mariette's music at the moment since I started playing her album yesterday, she is such a lovely person too and is fast becoming one of my favourite artists.

Thank you for signing and tweeting Nicola but I agree you are probably right reference the record companies. At least its getting the message out there and is good positive PR for Mariette in any case. I feel Mariette and Mary Jess have so many personal qualities alike. Thanks for your support again.

Hi Nicola,
I agree with Bob. Whether or not any record company will see it and do anything remains to be seen. The more people that sign it and pass the message on via other social media can't be a bad thing. It's all about getting the message out there, stranger things have happened in the music business.
I also signed and got a spam reply nothing really can be done about that. They got the usual response - blocked and reported for spam.

I agree, anything which helps to spread the word about Mariette can only be a good thing whether the record companies listen or not. I find it a travesty that she hasn't already been signed up.
Mariette is not only extremely talented but also a really really lovely person, it has been a privilege to get to know her a little in the short time I have known about her. Like Mary-Jess she really appreciates the support she gets, I really wish her all the success, she deserves it.
