Had it not been for 'Shine' and Hayley Westenra's 'Paradiso', Sisca's 'Impermanent Life' would have been a strong contender for my personal Album of the Year 2011.

Like Mary-Jess and Kanon, there is a touch of the exotic about Sisca's music, though she really sounds like neither of them.

All except one of the tracks were co-written by Sisca herself and there is a strong social justice and environmental message running throughout the album. To be honest though, sometimes I am so caught up in the beauty of Sisca's voice that I miss the lyrics.

Stunning John, thanks for introducing her.

I have seen her name before but she is new to me and this is the first time I have heard her songs. I really like her, beautiful voice.

I hope I can get my hands on one of her physical CD's one day.

I agree with you, John. Impermanent Life is a great album.
I managed to get one of the last Physical CDs from her site, I think. A close call!


Sisca herself is so kind! She even offered to teach me a little of her native tongue over facebook! As if she isn't busy enough with her classes.

She said in an interview a while back that she dreams of becoming an opera singer eventually. She also dreams of singing with Josh Groban one day (not sure if this is who she was refurring to in the article John linked) and is a fan of Cecilia Bartoli (My favorite Mezzo-soprano opera singer)

I missed out on the CD and had to content myself with an iTunes download. :-(
I do NOT like compressed music. Old fashioned me.
Still one of my favourite albums of last year though.

Whilst I prefer CD's I don't mind downloading music from sites like Amazon, but I don't like iTunes at all. "Impermanent Life" sounds like a fantastic album though so I may have to make an rare exception.

Thanks for the video Jenny, she has a fantastic voice. Looking forward to a new album.

Many thanks John for drawing my attention to Sisca. What a fantastic voice, and what a beautiful looking girl. All the tracks I have been able to hear sound wonderful. Since your post I have been trying everywhere to get a copy of impermanent life, but without success. I am not interested in listening to music on downloads.

It looks as if hardly any copies of this cd were made as they were all sold out shortly after release date. This shows that the demand is there and my point is how can we support these artists if we can't buy their cd's. If anybody has any idea how to get a copy I would be most grateful.

You could implore to Sisca personally. She's on Facebook and is very friendly. If she has any spare I'm sure she would oblige - though she may not have any (me and Adam don't have any of our physical CDs!).

I think John knows how much I love Sisca. <3 I nominated her for three awards at the CCUK 2011 awards. Her album is terrific. I find the video of 'Hope' very moving, too. I love all of her videos.

There was one copy available on the US amazon site for a short time before it was bought up. unfortunately, I haven't seen it anywhere else besides sisca's site before they sold out.



I love the interview Sisca just did with a Chicago-based radio station! It was nice to hear her speaking voice! Too bad the phone kept cutting out...
I hope she gets more airplay here in the US.
I love sharing my music with anyone here that'll give it a try. Maybe I can recruit some more fans for Sisca like I've done for Mary-Jess!

Excellent news, Sisca accepted my request on Facebook today and seems to be yet another crossover artist who is also a very nice person, it is wonderful of her to get more CD's made for us.

The Impermanent Life album was sold out so I downloaded her album from I-Tunes. I much prefer to have the physical CD so you can count me in. Whenever they are available, please let me know how to order one
